Imagening of Immersive Viewing Expierences

After the 3D hype we now run into an UHD hype. However, will the user accept all these new technologies if the next step is already announced? We are now in phase 1 of UHD-1 (4k), but discussions about phase 2 of UHD-1 is already going while NHK is already demonstrating UHD-2 (8k) and regular test services will start in 2016. The reason for all the above mentioned technologies is to provide a more immersive viewing experience to the user. This talk will present some  novel approaches for new viewing experiences including 2D and 3D panoramas and interactive navigation in ultra-high resolution video streams.
